I am continuing to work on making my cartooning better. Considering I can’t draw, anything will be an improvement right!
If you are interested in doing some practice in this line to go along with your writing, here are a couple of resources:
The cartooning instructional book I am using is Christopher Hart’s “Humongous Book of Cartooning, Watson Guptill New York 2009 ISBN 978-0-8230-5036 – 9. So far it has allowed me to advance to this.
I am using Adobe Illustrator to do my drawing as it allows me to draw with a steady hand and correct mistakes (of which there are many). You can now access Adobe Illustrator for a monthly fee rather than buying the whole program at once. (You can also try it out for free for 30 days!) It is fairly technical at first glance. However, there are plenty of tutorials available and if you can access the Gale (ed2go) courses there is a specific 12-lesson course for beginners.
I am given to understand that Youtube has training videos as well.
I am also using a basic Wacom Tablet with my Apple Laptop.
In this increasingly visual world, it’s worth investigating ways to create your own visual content to go along with your written ideas.
Have fun.
Kevin

Anybody interested in a quilt for their man-cave? Or just a really well-made, home-made quilt for any room in the house?
My sister-in-law just started up a quilt-making business down in Houston, Texas – Double H Quilts. She’s real creative and takes a great deal of pride in her work.
You can check her stuff out at https://doublehquilts.com/
I have to admit bias. However. I am mighty impressed with her first efforts. I am getting no compensation for this shameless plug other than some great Tex-Mex food when I get down there for a visit.
